Login & Access

1. How do I log in?


Here’s how to log in and access your courses:

  • Go to: https://www.lisamillsonline.com/ and click Login
  • You’ll be taken to the Access Your Course page, where you’ll see two login options.
  • Click on Login under Membership, Professional & Premium + BSL Signature Bundle Login/Access Portal (For schools, workplaces, memberships and premium bundles)

  • Alternatively, you can click on this direct link: courses.lisamillsonline.com

  • Click on "Login" on the top of the page
  • Enter your email address
  • Check your email and and you'll receive a Lisa Mills Online log in code
  • Copy/paste the code and you'll now be logged in

If you're having trouble receiving the code, you can still log in using your email address & password.

  • Click “Log in with a password instead”
  • Enter your email and password
  • Click Log in

Once you're logged in, click on "My Products" (found on the upper right) And you should see your purchases in your dashboard. If you don't, please double-check that you're using the correct email address.

If there are any issues still, please email our support team at support@lisamillsonline.com, and someone will help sort it out for you!


2. I didn’t receive my copy of the “Redeem” / confirmation email


Check your spam folder. Do a search for "Redeem your copy” in your spam folder.

If you can't find it, do the following steps:

  • Go to lisamillsonline.com
  • Click on "Login" on the top of the page
  • Enter your email address
  • Check your email and and you'll receive a Lisa Mills Online log in code
  • Copy/paste the code and you'll now be logged in

3. I didn’t receive any emails from you after enrolling


There’s likely a typo in your email address, which is why the emails weren't delivered. Send us an email at support@lisamillsonline.com with the name and email address you used to sign up and we’ll sort you out!


4. I lost my log in. My password isn’t working / “forgot password” email didn’t send


Send us an email at support@lisamillsonline.com with the name and email you used to sign up and we’ll reset your password for you!


5. I can't view my courses via app


To view the courses via the Teachable app, please make sure that you have a Teachable account. Your Teachable account must be linked to your LMO (Lisa Mills Online) account to be able to access the courses via the app.

If you don't have a Teachable account yet, you may sign up on this page first: https://teachable.com. Make sure to make the email addresses the same as the email address you used to register for your course purchase on Lisa Mills Online.

Once you have created a Teachable account, you need to link your LMO account to your Teachable account.

To do this, kindly do the following:

  • Log in to courses.lisamillsonline.com
  • Once logged in, click on the profile icon found on the top-right of the page
  • Click Edit Profile
  • Under Linked Accounts, Log in with Teachable, click on Link
  • Enter the email address and password you used for your Teachable account and click Log In
  • Click Authorize
  • You should now see a View Account link under Linked Accounts, Teachable Account
  • Click on View Account
  • You should now see Lisa Mills Online under Schools I'm Enrolled in
  • If you see Lisa Mills Online in there, you can now switch to the Teachable app and check if it has been added to your account
  • If you don't see it, kindly try signing out and then logging back into your account. You should see Lisa Mills Online under Schools I'm Enrolled In


6. Is the app available on Android and iOS?


Yes! The app is now available on Android and iOS. Search for Teachable and download. Please note that for iOS devices, the app is compatible with iOS 15.0 or later.


7. I don't see my courses.


If you don’t see the courses you bought when you log in and go to "My Products", double-check that you're logging in with the correct email address. Sometimes typos happen when enrolling, or another email address was inadvertently used.

If you're still running into trouble, please email support@lisamillsonline.com with the name & email address you used upon enrollment and we’ll sort this out for you.


8. I also bought a course for my mom/dad/etc. How do they get access to their accounts?


Send us an email at support@lisamillsonline.com and we’ll set up their account/s!

Please include: The name and email address you used to purchase the courses The name/s and email address/es of your mom/dad/friends so we can set up their account!


9. How to access your private Facebook group? What's the secret code?


You'll need the secret code to gain access to our private Facebook group. We do this to make sure there are no spammers! Without the code, we'll have to decline your request.

To get the code:

  • Log in to courses.lisamillsonline.com
  • Go to any of your courses
  • Find the lesson that says "Join Auslan Private Group" or "Join BSL Private Group"

Once you've found the secret code, you can go ahead and request access to the Facebook group!


10. Videos are not showing up or getting a blank page.


Typically, this issue happens when you're on the lessons with videos. The page shows as blank and the videos do not appear. This is typically a browser issue and often happens with Microsoft Internet Explorer. Please make sure you use our recommended browsers: Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox and the videos should show up.

If it's still not working, you can try resetting the cache of your browser, close and reopen the browser and try again.

How the course works

1. Does this have captions?


All our tutorial videos now have captions/subtitles! Just click on the CC button on the bottom-right part of the video to have the captions show up.


2. I cannot download the handbooks, do you have another link?


There's a little "download" button on the lower left of the huge PDF preview in the courses. If that still doesn't work, send us an email at support@lisamillsonline.com and we'll give you an alternate download link!


3. Is there a time frame to complete this course?


There's no set time frame to complete this course! All the videos are available to you immediately, so you can start anytime and progress at your own pace. You'll have unlimited access to the course for one year from the date of purchase, allowing you to watch and revisit the content as often as you'd like during that time.


4. How does this course work? Is there coursework?


After you enroll, you will be directed to a dashboard with your courses. Inside each course, you'll find video tutorials, fun quizzes, and an invitation to join us in our private community! Everything is in there, so you can go at your own pace, and learn from anywhere, anytime. There is no coursework, but you are more than welcome to post your questions or videos of you signing in the community for feedback.


5. Do you get feedback on your signing from the tutor?


Each course comes with a private online community - you are free and encouraged to post your questions there! We've also got students posting their signing videos for feedback!


6. I would like to join the course but wondered how the classes are set up. Are they in the evening, once a week, by appointment etc.?


These courses are all online. They are completely self-paced. You can start when you are ready and go through at your own pace. You will have access to the course as long as it is live and hosted on lisamillsonline.com


7. Can children take this course?


Yes, children can take this course! Although the course is designed for adults, we’ve had lots of children sign up with their parents / mothers - some for pleasure & some for homeschooling. We recommend no younger than 7y.o & with parental guidance until they get the hang of it. It is a user-friendly course online & comes attached to a thriving & supportive online community.


8. How is the course taught, is there an assessment?


This course consists of online videos, digital pdf handbook, online video activities & fun quizzes + a non-accredited certificate upon completion. All self-paced with unlimited & lifetime access. :)


9. What level is the course?


This course doesn't correspond to the accredited levels! This is Lisa’s own curriculum. You will get a solid introduction to the basics so you can begin communicating in sign language - so it may be what you need to help you brush up!


10. What comes after Courses 1 & 2?


Once you have completed Courses 1 &2, the next step is to join our Members' Club.

Unfortunately, this is no longer being offered as a monthly or annual subscription. However, you can get this with our Premium Bundle which gives you lifetime access to the Members' Club.

11. I have seen other courses for a much higher cost, why are these so inexpensive?


The courses you are referring to are accredited courses. They are not cheap but do lead to certification. Lisa’s courses are a certificate upon completion - not accredited. These courses are also done online and at your own pace.

Lots of people sign up to get started in learning Auslan or BSL & later consider whether they want to join the accredited course & if they do, they will have a head start.

This course is perfect for learning how to communicate with the Deaf community and start having simple conversations with them! If that's what you're after, you will love this course.


12. How is the course taught, is there an assessment?


This course consists of online videos, digital pdf handbook, online video activities & fun quizzes + a non-accredited certificate upon completion. All self-paced with unlimited one-year access to the course.


13. Do you have live / face-to-face workshops? Do you teach in schools?


Lisa used to do live or face-to-face workshops before she had kids. But not anymore, only occasional live weekend workshops now. Lisa’s focus is building this online school with her expanding team.


14. How can you stay proficient in signing if consistent practice is needed? Is there any support available to ensure regular opportunities to sign?


Learning Auslan or BSL is much like learning any new language--it takes practice, and progress comes with time. This course is an excellent way to get started, as it helps you build a foundation of basic knowledge and vocabulary, which is essential before you can fully apply and practice what you've learned.

We also have an active online community where students often share videos to practice their signing and receive feedback. It's a supportive space to continue improving and staying connected with others on the same journey.

Sign language questions

1. Why is sign language different from country to country? Would it not be easier if universally we signed the same?


It would be great if it were universal but it's not. It's a living evolving language like all other languages & has its own unique signs for each country. However, Auslan & British sign Language (BSL) & New Zealand (NZSL) are very similar. It also has a lot to do with the history of deaf education & how sign language evolved from that.


2. What variations do you use?


Lisa’s variations are QLD! There are not a lot of differences between Auslan variations. Mostly colours and numbers, but the foundational skills are the same. It's much like different spoken dialects in Australia. Familiar all round but has it's differences. We encourage students to just get started and learn the variations later when they are more familiar with Auslan!


3. Can I do this with one hand?


We get this question a lot. And we have lots of students who can only access 1 hand. It’s tricky with 1 hand as Auslan & BSL uses 2 hands. But it can be modified. Eg you could use your other arm or should to help complete the handshapes - it’s doable. Deaf people are very accommodating & understanding when people with physical barriers like you try to sign to them. You could reach out to our online community for tips too.

Billing and Miscellaneous

1. Can I get a refund?


We have a 30-day refund policy, no questions asked for all our digital products. If for some reason you’re not satisfied with the product, you can request a refund by sending an email to support@lisamillsonline.com.


2. I received 2 invoices. Why am I billed twice?


Each person who enrols receives 2 invoices from our system automatically and they look different. If it were 2 separate transactions, you will receive a total of 4 invoices. As you received 2 different invoices, it means there was just one purchase.


3. Is it possible to contact you by phone?


Lisa is deaf and doesn’t use the phone. All of our communication is made online.


4. I completed my Auslan / BSL Course but didn’t receive my certificate. Can you send it to me?


Our certificates send automatically at 100% completion so make sure you’ve clicked “Complete and Continue” on every lesson! (On mobile, that looks like a white arrow on a pink background.)

If you’ve done that and it still hasn't been sent, please email us at support@lisamillsonline.com and we’ll look into it!


5. Can I have the number of hours of the course added to my certificate?


Yes, you will need to email support@lisamillsonline.com and request a custom certificate.


6. Do you have an app?


Absolutely! We're thrilled to offer our fantastic courses through our dedicated app. Currently, it's exclusively available on iOS devices via our online platform, Teachable.


7. Can I gift the course to someone else? Or transfer my account to someone?


Yes, you can gift the course to someone else, please send us an email on support@lisamillsonline.com and provide the name and email address of the person you are giving access to.

Tech Troubleshooting

1. How do I clear cache from my browser?


Here are step-by-step instructions on how to clear cache on the most common devices:

MOBILE DEVICES:

In the Chrome app
  • On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app
  • At the top right, tap More
  • Tap History. Clear browsing data
  • At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time
  • Next to ""Cookies and site data"" and ""Cached images and files,"" check the boxes
  • Tap Clear data
How can I clear the cache in Safari on my iOS device?
  • Open Settings
  • Scroll down and tap Safari
  • Scroll down again and tap Clear History and Website Data, tap it once again to confirm
  • Alternatively, deleting the app and reinstalling it's another option
COMPUTER:

Clear the Web Browser Cache - Safari
  • Click on the Safari drop-down menu and select Preferences
  • Click the Advanced tab. Select the Show Develop menu in the menu bar checkbox and close the Preferences window
  • Select the Develop drop-down menu. Click Empty Cache
  • Note: You may want to also clear your browser history
In Google Chrome
  • On your computer, open Chrome
  • At the top right, click More
  • Click More tools. Clear browsing data
  • At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time
  • Next to "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files," check the boxes
  • Click Clear data
Mozilla Firefox - Clear all cookies, site data and cache
  • Click the menu button. and select Options. Preferences
  • Select the Privacy & Security panel and go to the Cookies and Site Data section
  • Click the Clear Data… button. The Clear Data dialog will appear
  • Click Clear
